Premium monitoring with 5-minute intervals β’ Real-time outage tracking β’ Comprehensive availability statistics
WebsiteDown.xyz independently checks every site from multiple global locations, every 5 minutes, using redundant, direct-to-origin HTTP(S) requests. Only actual failures are counted as downtimeβnot slow loads or isolated network issues. User-submitted reports are shown separately and do not affect uptime stats.
What Makes This Different? Unlike other uptime checkers, WebsiteDown.xyz uses real monitoring (not just DNS or HTTP HEAD requests) and tracks from multiple world regions for real accuracy.
Our data is trusted by journalists, engineers, and thousands of site owners.
Uptime percentage represents how much time a website was available and working properly over the last 30 days. 100% means perfect availability, while 99.9% means about 43 minutes of downtime per month. Our calculation: 100 - (total_downtime_minutes Γ· 43,200 minutes) Γ 100.
"Having Issues" means the website is partially accessible but experiencing problems like slow loading, error pages, or intermittent connectivity. This is different from "Down" where the site is completely unreachable. Issues might include 5xx server errors, timeouts, or degraded performance.
Even brief downtime can impact user experience, SEO rankings, and business revenue. For popular sites, minutes of downtime can mean thousands of frustrated users and lost opportunities. Tracking outages helps identify patterns and reliability trends over time.
Our durations are approximate (~) because we check every 5 minutes. If a site goes down at 10:01 and recovers at 10:07, we might detect it from 10:05 to 10:10, recording 5 minutes instead of 6. The actual downtime could be 1-9 minutes, so we show ~5 minutes to indicate it's an estimate.
Unlike basic checkers that only test DNS or send simple HTTP requests, we perform full website monitoring from multiple global locations. We actually load pages, take screenshots, and verify real user experience. This catches issues that other tools miss, like server errors, broken pages, or regional problems.
